Product Specification
With the rapid development of automotive engine technology, the requirements for engine cooling system are constantly increasing. In the new generation of B48TU series engine adopts the segmented cooling control, engine segmented cooling control is a newly developed control scheme.
1.Engine section cooling is to control the flux of different engine cooling circuits connected to the heat management module (replacing the electronic thermostat) by controlling the position of the electric section cooling valve (SCV) according to the working range of the engine. For example, the flow of coolant through the crankcase can be interrupted as needed during the warm-up phase and partial load operation mode. In this case, the coolant flows only through the cylinder head. In the warm-up stage, the engine can reach its movement temperature faster, and low emission engine operation can be realized under partial load operation mode.
2. Structure Composition of engine block cooling control system The engine adopts block cooling control cooling system, its core component is the thermal management module. The thermal management module is a new type of electric thermostat, which replaces the traditional electronic thermostat. The electric drive device of the thermal management module is composed of a DC motor, a variable speed mechanism and a position sensor. The connection relation of its internal circuit is shown in the figure
3. The control unit controls the DC motor to adjust the position of the rotary spool valve within a specified range, and the sensor monitors it. On the one hand, a rotary slide valve in the heat management module connects or closes the open cross section of different cooling channels in a variable way, so as to cool different engine components; In addition, according to the cooling requirements of the engine during operation, the flow rate of the cooling channel connected to the heat management module can be adjusted in an accurate way by adjusting the size of the open cross section area to achieve the best cooling effect. The structure as the picture below:
Product Details
Our thermostat is made of high temerature resistant nylon materials, The sensitivity of our thermostat to water temperature can effectively control the amount of water in the tank to ensure that the engine works at normal water temperature.
A car's engine thermostat is the component in its cooling system that opens and allows coolant to circulate once the motor is warmed up. This gives two main benefits: 1) It allows the engine to heat up to its optimum temperature as quickly as possible, and 2) it keep the engine at its optimum temperature while running.
Product Test
Oustar electric coolant pump and themostat has extremely strict quality control processes ,all our products must go through 17 tests before launching to the market.

About BMW Electric thermostat
1.What does a thermostat on a BMW do?
A BMW thermostat controls the flow of coolant from your BMW engine through the radiator. During warmup coolant flows, but not into the radiator until proper operating temperature has been reached.
2.How long do BMW thermostats last?
How long does a car radiator thermostat last? There is not a set time for the car radiator to stop working. However, most car experts recommend car thermostat replacement after 10 years.
3.How do I know if my BMW thermostat is bad?
Here are the signs your car thermostat is failing: The temperature gauge reads high and the engine overheats. The temperature changes erratically. The vehicle's coolant leaks around the thermostat or under the vehicle.
4.Can I drive without a thermostat?
If you drive your car without a thermostat, it will run at 50 degree centigrade. When the car drives at this temperature, moisture or humidity will form. And when it is condensed, it will mix with oil and turn into slush (watery ice). This slush blocks out lubrication.
5.Will an engine overheat without a thermostat?
Running an engine without the thermostat can cause the engine to overheat due to the coolant passes through the engine too fast and will not let the coolant absorb the heat from the engine.
